Hot Water

Installed externally an air source heat pump draws air from the ambience outside your home and is blown over a refrigerated liquid thus converting it to gas. The gas is then pushed through a heat exchanger, providing warmth for your heating and hot water needs.

Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) work best when installed in connection with Solar Panels because an ASHP uses electricity and can be powered in part by the Solar Panels. Solar Panels convert sunlight into electricity, thus creating an open system of renewable, clean energy via ambient air and solar rays.

Please Note: All heating measures are fully funded under the ECO Framework. The Eco Framework adopts an insulation first approach, however. This means that all walls and ceilings must be fully insulated, prior to funding any heating systems or controls. This comes as a complete package under the grant and is also free of charge.

The cost of Installing ASHP is usually in the range of £8000-£12,000 depending on the type of unit and size of your home but is fully funded under the ECO4 scheme subject to Occupancy Eligibility and Property Eligibility.
